Our Mission

Our mission is to improve housing conditions, promote homeownership opportunities, and ensure every resident has access to safe, affordable, and dignified housing through empowerment and advocacy.

Our Vision

Our vision at the Greater East Orange Tenant Association is to become a catalyst for positive change and economic empowerment in the Greater East Orange, NJ area and surrounding towns. Over the next three years, we envision acquiring a diverse portfolio of buildings located within low-income tracks of opportunity zones, in collaboration with black developers, to promote financial wellness and well-being.

Through strategic partnerships with financial institutions, we aim to facilitate the purchase of units and homes by individuals who are on fixed salaries and are stakeholders in the community. By leveraging these partnerships, we will empower residents to become homeowners, thereby fostering a sense of pride, stability, and ownership within the community.

Our commitment is to create pathways for residents to not only live but also thrive in East Orange and its surrounding areas. We envision a future where every individual has the opportunity to build wealth, achieve financial stability, and contribute to the vibrant and inclusive growth of our community. Together, we will unlock the potential of our neighborhoods and pave the way for a brighter future for all.
